msgm resort 2013

just when i thought resort fever had officially died down, i stumbled upon msgm's collection. you already know i loved massimo's giorgetti's pre-fall '12 line, and for resort, he used all of the same signature touches: gorgeous florals, mixed prints, unexpected colors and soft structure. however, unlike fall's ultra-feminine vibe, resort is much sportier and androgynous (evidently he was inspired by the upcoming olympics - how festive!) 

there's still enough girly attitude to satisfy the quintessential msgm sweetheart, but sleek jackets, graphic stripes and athletic touches (like baseball caps and varsity letters) are a very welcome surprise.

MSGM

super in love with the msgm pre-fall collection. for such a young line (it started in italy in 2008) it's amazingly well-developed and perfectly curated. i'm loving the feminine florals, mixed prints, glittery sunglasses, metallic touches, bold colors, perhaps the best use of clay i've seen in a while, and soft structure.

and it's all finished off with simple black ladylike pumps. as much as i love chunky wedges and crazy colors, it's really nice to see a return of the (platform-free) pump.
