pearly whites

i've been looking for an oversized pearl necklace for at least a year now (mostly because of the chic ways blair eadie wears hers, like here and here), and until now i'd never found a reasonable option. this stunner from zara has a slightly beachy vibe, so it goes perfectly with preppy and laid-back pieces alike -- or you could mix them all together in an outfit like this:

put a bow on it

everyone who knows me is fully aware of my love for bows. i can't even count how many bow-adorned clothes and accessories i own, including a black leather hair clip i am constantly losing and then finding again in the bottom of my bag. you can imagine how excited i was when carven introduced those uber-popular slingback bow-tied flats and pumps, as worn by blair eadie (and about a million other bloggers/editors/models) below:

the $500+ price tag deterred me from even considering buying these shoes, but i was triumphant when i stumbled upon these very similar slingback flats at miss selfridge for just $38 (they come in black too). they're just what i need to put a spring in my step this season -- fingers crossed it actually starts getting warm soon!

this blush pink color would go with everything, especially the following...

found: camo perfection

you may remember when we raved about a certain pair of camouflage pants in this post. we were a little obsessed (and still are, though the pants are regrettably prone to stretching out and need to be washed frequently!)

naturally, after securing my perfect camo pants, i was on the hunt for the perfect camo jacket. j.crew stocked one a few seasons back, and until last week i had yet to find a suitable replacement. disclaimer: i never planned on wearing a full-on camouflage jumpsuit. don't worry.

however, on an ordinary trip to target, i stumbled on what could possibly be my favorite jacket ever. for $34.  it's the perfect color and fit -- slim with a drawstring at the waist. and the fabric is nice and thin, so you can layer it up in the winter and throw it over a sundress in the summer:

i've been wearing my new love nonstop and have been taking notes from blogger blair eadie, a certifiable camo expert. as blair stylishly demonstrates on her blog atlantic-pacific, the best way to wear camouflage is with a little bit of irony, a swipe of lipstick and lots of feminine touches. see my favorite looks below:

one of my favorite jewelry sites, BaubleBar, just released an amazing collection with my favorite blogger, blair eadie of atlantic-pacific. i knew the pieces would be show-stopping, but i did not anticipate wanting to buy every. single. one of them! the statement necklaces, dainty rings, bold color and overall mix of preppy + edgy are right up my alley. plus, everything is super reasonable for the style and quality! peep my favorites below, and shop the rest of the collab here.

september pins

not that this is news, but pinterest is such a gold mine for inspiration. i'm on one of my frequent pinning sprees, obsessing over my different boards and perusing blogs for hours just to find one shiny new pin. i'll probably forget about it in a week, then have an epiphany one rainy afternoon and start the pinning marathon once again.

even silly things like tiffany blue popsicles or some ultra-glamorous makeup give me about one zillion new ideas. of course, i tend to focus most on the fashion-related pinboards, especially those of blair eadie and bri emery... luckily fashion makes up about 75% of the entire pinterest network so i'm good. the other 25% is cupcakes, baby animals and nail art.

camo craving

camo jackets: never have i so heavily regretted not buying something. j.crew had a steady supply of camouflage field jackets a few seasons back, but i never even considered buying one -- partially because i already owned a j.crew field jacket in solid army green, but also because i didn't know how i would possibly pull off such a strong look.
but now that fall is approaching and camouflage is popping up everywhere -- including the valentino and kenzo runways -- i'm beginning to scour the internet for options. i love how blair eadie made camo look preppy and cool (image 1) with bright blue gingham. then she gave it a polished spin with a full skirt, black pumps and a ladylike bag (image 5).
that's what's so great about this pattern -- you can wear it a million different ways, and it always feels fresh.  i know liz, a self-proclaimed tag chaser, will be more than thrilled to bring something army-worthy into our shared wardrobe.

remember, camo isn't just for jackets -- camo blouses, pants and dresses are making an impact, too. i'd love to wear this karl jersey dress with a mix of tough and luxe accessories:
