put a bow on it

everyone who knows me is fully aware of my love for bows. i can't even count how many bow-adorned clothes and accessories i own, including a black leather hair clip i am constantly losing and then finding again in the bottom of my bag. you can imagine how excited i was when carven introduced those uber-popular slingback bow-tied flats and pumps, as worn by blair eadie (and about a million other bloggers/editors/models) below:

the $500+ price tag deterred me from even considering buying these shoes, but i was triumphant when i stumbled upon these very similar slingback flats at miss selfridge for just $38 (they come in black too). they're just what i need to put a spring in my step this season -- fingers crossed it actually starts getting warm soon!

this blush pink color would go with everything, especially the following...

bow down

everyone who knows me is well aware of my lifelong obsession with bows. it's not that i even wear bows every day; i've just happened to accumulate a huge collection of bow patterns, bow-adorned shoes, bow jewelry, even bow blouses. lucky for me, the ultra-feminine embellishment is coming back this spring (i mean, only every major fashion blogger has a pair of those carven sling backs) and you'd better believe i'll be stocking up. i've been building up my currently obsessed page and have found almost too many covetable bow-adorned items . . .

just like minnie

it goes without saying that femininity is one of the main components of our personal style, and liz & i both love to get a little girly from time to time -- but not by wearing a baby pink mini or crowning ourselves with a tiara. rather, we'll paint our nails seafoam green, don a lacy top, or occasionally wing out our eyeliner.

this bow-print cooperative dress we found at urban outfitters is the epitome of our girly-chic tendencies -- slightly-puffed sleeves, a nipped-in waist, rich coral hue, super-short hemline, and a bow pattern that brings to mind the adorable minnie mouse. paired with some jeweled kate spade flats we scored on sale at nordstrom, its become one of our favorite (and easiest) outfits.

you can still get the dress here at urbanoutfitters.com for $58 - quite a bargain considering how much you'll wear it. and if you like the shape but aren't sure if you're quite ready for the all-over minnie print, they have the same dress in solid navy as well.

have a great weekend!
