cheap thrills

my list of summer bargains is already a mile long. here's what i'm currently coveting... this irresistible valentino-esque party dress ($285), these pearly midi-rings from rue gembon ($65), the perfect minty green summer clutch ($60), this i-can't-believe-people-are-wearing-these-again denim mini skirt ($78), these go-with-everything mixed-metallic sandals ($198, also available in black/silver here), the bright floral summer dress of my dreams ($30), an ultra-chic answer to white birkenstocks ($60), this black boho-chic studded clutch ($123), and this pair of perfectly glinty, barely-there ear cuffs ($60).

zara pumps

while you're saving your pennies for those valentino rockstuds, these cute little pumps from zara should fill the void pretty nicely. i'm wearing mine with everything from jeans to flippy skirts to embroidered dresses, and the walkable heel means you can go, go, go all day long.

get yours (on sale!) here.

pearly whites

i've been looking for an oversized pearl necklace for at least a year now (mostly because of the chic ways blair eadie wears hers, like here and here), and until now i'd never found a reasonable option. this stunner from zara has a slightly beachy vibe, so it goes perfectly with preppy and laid-back pieces alike -- or you could mix them all together in an outfit like this:

tribal mix

tribal/ethnic prints are going to be huge this season, and these sandals by zara (!!!) are crazy cool, shockingly affordable and would be the perfect mixed-media punch for all of my basic summer outfits. i can picture these with all of my favorite skinny jeans -- from my trusty rag & bone "legging" jeans to my trendier destroyed styles -- as well as with a simple loose tank, black wrap skirt and sleek accessories. it lets the sandals take center stage but still feels totally effortless.

trend hopping

while trying to shop restrictively (nyc shopping is literally better than anywhere else ever) i've subconsciously indulged several of my favorite summer trends:

1) neon + neutrals // c wonder clutch (such a steal!)
2) drop-waist tunics // uniqlo (so cute with slim pants + a chunky heel)
3) leopard (when isn't this a trend?) // zara mini bag
4) industrial earrings // rachel rachel roy (also seen in this post)
5) americana stripes // uniqlo t-shirt dress

what are you wearing this summer?

recent purchases

still keeping a constant mental wish list of things i need to buy for my upcoming time in nyc. still yet-to-be-purchased: a sleek white blazer, a handful of basic tees and tanks, white skinnies, and snakeskin flats. life is hard.

i stopped by h&m and zara last week to get some choice pieces that will carry me through the entire summer. i consider gold flats as essential to my wardrobe as great denim, and i've been on a quest for a simple leopard-print dress for months. it was icing on the cake that i snapped one up at h&m for just $12. as for the sequin clutch, i didn't think i could leave the store without it, especially since it was 30% off (at the unlikely ann taylor) and because silver is having such a major comeback.

i of course had to include my favorite somewhat-new wrist accessory... my gold kate spade 'seaport grand' watch. are those neon pink accents not totally genius? plus some new gems from stella & dot, one of my favorite jewelry lines. i'm not usually one for long necklaces or pendants at all, but i'm completely obsessed with that giant white coral.

minimal sandals

after seeing how gorgeous tibi's sleek, minimal sandals looked with their new spring line, i couldn't help but go a little crazy looking for similar, affordable beauties online. as usual, zara more than delivered - not only are the silhouettes perfection, but i cant get enough of those bright pops of color! i mean, neon yellow + python? genius.
can i get them all in a size 8, please?

all shoes, zara.
